The club is based in the village of Portchester in southern Hampshire and most of the members live in the Borough of Fareham with a few from nearby Gosport. The club was founded in 1966 and between the early 1970s and 2006 we met at Fareham Community Centre. With the closure of Fareham Community Centre in July 2006 Fareham Borough Council have relocated us to a redundant pre-school building in Portchester. We have an active membership of around fifteen. We meet on various evenings through the week and often over the weekends as well.
The future's bright, The future's a small orange building in Portchester, but only until we finish repainting it... But most of all it is now ASSURED.
The Fareham & District MRC is a member of the Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs.

It had to happen! With all the other rubbish going on about the Community Centre Closure and trying to find a new home for the club the Webmaster has finally succumbed to the pressure from the Nictun Borrud crew and has started the long overdue re-vamp of the site to include their project on the list of available layouts. Therefore, please be advised that not all the pages that used to be here are still where you will expect to find them, and a number of the links to other pages and sites have been temporarily taken down. Normal service will be resumed when the work is completed. Now, where did I put my “round tuit?”
on this site? Having been let down by the venue we were working with in Gosport we had to scrap our 2007 show plans. We have now made a firm booking for the weekend of 4th & 5th October 2008 at Wickham Community Centre. Check back here for details as they start to firm up.
As we migrated to the new Hantsweb servers we gained the ability to have a web contact form for those visitors who want to contact us but only have webmail and were therefore unable to use our mailto: links. Over the course of time all pages and mailto: links will be changed to point at our new Contacts page.

| Did you come to this site looking for information about trains like these? Sorry, but we don't do this sort of train. However Fareham does have another railway club who run trains like this and you can email their Secretary from here. |
