The works of Richard Trevithick by Junior Member Alec Cowton
Alec recently had to complete a shcool project on a personal hero. For reasons that become apparent as you read the article Alec chose Richard Trevithick, the father of the steam locomotive. Dad saw the article and converted it into a web page for the club site.
The history of railways in the Meon Valley by Elliott Cowton.
A large number of the projects of the club are based on what can be found on the railways in the Meon Valley (both real and proposed). Unfortunately, to make operation intesting we have had to make use of our "modellers liscences" quite a lot. This article sets out to give you the "facts" as far as we are able to discern them, and to tell you the "fiction" we have employed in building the layouts themselves. This article originally appeared on this site under the name of "Soberton".
The route of the Meon Valley Line
As a follow on to the last article here is a small gallery of pictures covering the route of The Meon Valley between Mislingford Yard and Droxford Station. This encompasses the supposed sites of Soberton, Southwick Junction and Mislingford Yard. There are plans to extend the gallery north towards Corhampton and Brockbridge, the supposed crossing point of extension of the Botley - Bishops Waltham line to Petersfield as well as to include some pictures of the site of The West Meon Viaduct.
